A joint venture between China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) and China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC) has started construction work on the onshore facilities for the Kingfisher oilfield in western Uganda’s Albertine basin.
The joint venture, known as CCJV, broke ground last week on a central processing facility (CPF) with crude processing capacity of 40,000 barrels per day, a pump station and well pads under sub-package one of the EPC 3 tender package.
The CPF will be built on the south-eastern shore of Lake Albert and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
