Barcelona want to sign £130k-a-week star, but Chelsea could get revenge

Wilfried Zaha is now reportedly attracting the attention of Barcelona along with Chelsea and several other European clubs.

According to the Evening Standard, both Barca and Juventus are waiting in line to see if Zaha will commit to Crystal Palace or not.

The 29-year-old has less than 12 months left on his contract at Selhurst Park and is yet to give solid confirmations about committing to the Eagles further.

With time no longer on the attacker’s side, he will understandably want to progress his career before it’s too late.

Ambitions of playing in the Champions League must surely be on the agenda for a player who has the ability to rub shoulders with the very best.

Hence why the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona are seemingly circling the Palace talisman, eagerly awaiting a final decision.

Will Zaha choose Barca or Chelsea?

It would be difficult for Zaha to turn down such enticing offers, especially if it meant remaining in London where he has resided for a majority of his life.

Patrick Vieira’s employers are apparently already concerned that the Ivory Coast international will be turned by the potential outside offerings.

Offerings that will far greater coming from Stamford Bridge rather than the Camp Nou.

Barcelona’s financial situation is not something to be admired, whilst Todd Boehly has the funds to outbid his competitors, as mentioned by the Evening Standard.

Boehly could easily offer the talented winger above his current £130k-a-week salary with room to spare.

Potentially landing the Premier League trickster ahead of Barca would be seen as taking revenge by some, after the Catalans beat the Blues to the signings of Jules Kounde and Raphinha this summer.

But would the Chelsea owner be wise to take a punt on Zaha? Ally McCoist certainly thinks so.

Yet others might tread with more caution, considering how many forwards Graham Potter already has to keep happy.

Add another to the mix, and there might be rumbles of discomfort from certain sections of the Cobham camp.
