Municipalities of South Africa is an organisation that advocates for youth empowerment and employment.

The organisation hosts annual national awards that recognise local models, local Non-Profit Organisations (NPO),model coaches, entrepreneurs, social media influencers, community builders, social project contributors, movement campaigns, business excellence, and local municipalities.

This year the Pink Touch Foundation organisation has been nominated by the Municipalities of South Africa National Awards under the Best NPOs category.

The announcements of the winners will take place on November 26.

Founder of the organisation Ayanda Masuku mentioned she is grateful and honoured that her organisation has received recognition on a national level, “I have done great work for my community in Emalahleni, although I have never been recognised by my local municipality. This is not a complaint, but it would serve as a reminder to local officials to recognise and work hand in hand with local non-profit organisations, because as NPOs, we aim to benefit and uplift the community, and we can’t do that without the assistance of our municipality,” Ayanda emphasised.

Recently Pink Touch Foundation made its way to Ackerville where the founder, Ayanda Masuku spoke and encouraged the grade 12 learners from Bonginsimbi Comprehensive School in preparation for their examinations.

The foundation hosted its annual Spelling Bee competition at Duvha Primary School.

The foundation donated 172 packets of sanitary pads to support the red robot campaign that aims to end period poverty.

“I directed the sponsor to purchase the sanitary towels from a local brand as they are more comfortable. They represent females and feminine hygiene products beautifully in my opinion. I wish all grade 12 learners the best. May they prepare well, focus set a goal, and never give up,” Ayanda encouraged.

Pink Touch Foundation is a determined organisation that is focused on changing lives.

Last month Ayanda and her team hosted the fourth annual spelling bee competition at Duvha Primary School on September 23.

The competition aimed to inspire children to read daily, instil a reading habit, and emphasise the importance and privilege of knowing how to read.

The Big Walk for fundraising started at Highveld Mall.

For the first time, the organisation had two schools competing against each other, Duvha Primary School versus Spring Valley Primary.

Spring Valley Primary School won the competition and performed well throughout.

Before the organisation hosted its very first Big Walk fundraising event, the objective was to meet the financial goals for its first pageant, Miss Kasi Emalahleni 2022, Little & Junior Miss Pink Touch Foundation 2022.

The pageant aims to empower young girls to shine a light on other girls from the townships, and to inspire them to explore entrepreneurial skills.

Ayanda believes the nomination is a powerful way to shine the light and represent her community of Emalahleni. She outlined that should the NPO win, it would be a wonderful badge for the organisation.

Ayanda is honoured to have been recognised because it will help her continue doing what she feels is necessary to impact and empower the youth and community.

Those who wish for the foundation to win, can vote via EFT using the code BNP028.
