Deputy President William Ruto has said the Kenya Kwanza Alliance will respect the people’s decision come next week’s elections.
Ruto who is in the race to succeed his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta said Kenya has a God who will show His will come on Tuesday.
” People of Kenya should not be afraid because come on Tuesday there is God on heaven who will make sure on Tuesday His will prevail,” he said.
Expressing optimism that he will be Kenya’s fifth President, Ruto said his coalition will triumph over the deep state.
“The deep state and the system will not stop us. It is the people that hires and fires the government and we will prove to them that it is the people of Kenya who will make the decision to take Kenya forward,” he stated.
The deputy president said Kenyans will make a decision to choose the team which has a plan for the future or the one which has stories relying on the past.
Going further, Ruto said If he wins the elections he will extend his arm to his main rival Raila Odinga to know which role hill will play in the government.
“I want ask my worth brother on the other side, that when Tuesday is done we will have a cup of Tea and agree which role you will play as the leader of the opposition,” he said.
Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga had pledged to shake hands with his rivals after next week’s elections.
Raila reiterated that he will reach out to DP Ruto, George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party and Agano Party’s David Mwaure, whether he wins the elections or not.
In his speech at Azimio La Umoja’s final rally at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday, August 6, Raila stated that the country was bigger than any individual.
“We are soon entering Canaan and in Canaan, we must embrace reconciliation. In my government there will be no revenge, I pledge to be the president of all,” Raila stated.
