US to donate $20 million to Uganda for agriculture
In a meeting held at State house Entebbe on Thursday, with president Yoweri Museveni, the US permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas Greenfield announced that Washington would provide USD 20 million, subject to congressional approval, in the new additional resources for Uganda through the US Agency for international development. The funding will help smaller holder farmers adopt improved agricultural practices that increase productivity, reduce post-harvest losses and add value to their products as well as address the food crisis in the Karamoja region.
